FATAL CRASHES IN BORDERTOWN AND MURRAY BRIDGE

Major crash investigators have attended the site of an accident at Bordertown, where the 38-year-old male driver was killed at around 7.30pm Tuesday evening. He was driving a small Hyundai sedan that collided with a semi-trailer. The man, a resident of Bordertown, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and sadly he died at the scene. Police and emergency services closed the Dukes Highway and diverted east and west bound traffic; at this time the circumstances surrounding the crash are not known. The state’s road toll now stands at 41, after another fatal crash claimed the life of an 87-year-old woman at Murray Bridge on Wednesday. Her SUV collided with three parked cars and a tree on Swanport Road. She was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but sadly she died overnight.
 
APSLEY CUP RACING IN EDENHOPE JUNE 12

Victoria’s oldest racing club is gearing up for the 161st year of its famous Cup Race. The Apsley Racing Club will run the Apsley Cup at the Edenhope Racecourse on June 12th this year, with the racing action commencing at 11am. It’s about so much more than racing, with events including an art exhibition, workshops with internationally-renowned milliner Neil Grigg, a black tie ball, after party and the inaugural Tour De Frances cycling race.
