| The Urban Fire Brigade in Nhill hosted its annual awards dinner recently, applauding the efforts of its dedicated volunteers. Father and daughter members John Deckert and Jo Ussing were recognised for their efforts; John for his 60 years of service, and Jo for her hard work during the Black Saturday disaster. Other volunteers honoured on the night were Brendan Moylan for 10 years service; David Donnell for 15 years service; Sean McCartney for 25 years and Peter Riordan for 35 years of service. District 17 Operations Officer Ian Day congratulated everyone who received medals, and said the dinner and awards night was important in acknowledging the hard work of brigade volunteers and their contribution to the community, over many years. |
