And in Sports news, results from the KNTNA Netball rounds are in, and in the A Grade comps over the weekend for Round 14:

• Keith defeated Mundulla 60 to 47

• Lucindale beat Kingston 59 to 33

• Penola romped away to win over Padthaway 49 to 23 •

And Naracoorte trounced Kyby, winning 79 to 30.

And in Round 14 of the KNTFL footy league

: • Penola crushed Padthaway by a whopping 109 points

• Lucindale had it all over Kingston with an easy 102 point win

• Mundulla managed to hold off Keith to win by 13 points •

And Kybybolite proved just too good, with a win over Naracoorte by 18 points.

This year’s South Australia Young Rural Ambassador Award winners have been announced, and both young ladies plan to finish their university studies in the future, then head straight back to the bush. Caitlyn Marshall, aged 19, is from Coonalpyn and is studying her first year of speech pathology in Adelaide. Caitlyn has a passion for rural healthcare and said she sees how difficult it is for some people living in rural areas to access specialist healthcare and services. Georgie Beighton, aged 18, comes from Penola, and next year she’ll start Veterinary Science in Wagga. Georgie is working in the cattle industry during this gap year in her studies, and is also involved in cattle showing. She said it’s sad that a lot of people her age don’t have an interest in farming, and more young people are needed to work in the industry.
