| A Mazda CX-9 stolen from Penola was located in Mount Gambier yesterday, resulting in a manhunt by police, after several incidents occurred during a crime spree. It’s believed the suspect was involved in a collision at Wattle Range East on Wednesday night, in another vehicle, and when a passer-by stopped to offer assistance, he was allegedly threatened with a knife, with the suspect then stealing his Toyota Hilux. The thief then forced another driver off the road when he followed in pursuit. The suspect then dumped the stolen Toyota on a farm, before threatening the owners of the property with a knife. He then stole their Mazda CX-9. And in breaking news this morning, police arrested the suspect last night. The 25 year old, of no fixed address, has been changed with driving in a dangerous manner, aggravated robbery and aggravated serious criminal trespass. He’s been refused bail and will front Mount Gambier Magistrates Court. Police thank the community for their support and assistance during the investigation. |
