COUNCILS REPORT TO INQUIRY ON REGIONAL HEALTH WISH-LIST
Wednesday, 06 July 2016 09:36
COUNCILS REPORT TO INQUIRY ON REGIONAL HEALTH WISH-LIST Following a state parliamentary inquiry introduced in May this year, the Limestone Coast Local Government Association invited feedback from locals regarding regional health services. That enabled local councils to unite in their stance on the future of health services, in a report to the inquiry. The Limestone Coasts Local Government Association’s president, and Mayor of Naracoorte Erika Vickery said the one of the most significant issues raised was the large number of rural people who are seeking assistance at metropolitan hospitals, due to many services not being delivered regionally. She added that health and well-being is essential to the continued success and growth of regional and rural South Australia and we are urging the state government to assess our communities’ needs from a social perspective.
