HORSHAM HIGHWAY PATROL INTERCEPTS DRUG DRIVERS
Tuesday, 14 June 2016 10:15
Horsham Highway Patrol officers intercepted the same car twice in one hour, and each time the different driver tested positive for drug driving. The Holden ute was first stopped for speeding near Dimboola around 9.30am Monday morning, and the 22 year old female driver told police she had been out clubbing in Melbourne, and decided she wanted to drive home to South Australia. The woman’s roadside drug test indicated a positive reading for the drug methylamphetamine. Then at 10.30am, police intercepted the ute for a second time on the Western Highway in Nhill. This time, the 22 year old male driver, who had been a passenger in the ute when stopped the first time, also tested positive to methylamphetamine. Police will proceed with charges once the results of further drug tests are available.
