| DRAMATIC WEEKEND IN THE GRAMPIANS Emergency services were kept busy in the Grampians National Park this past weekend with a number of incidents. Three women and a child aged 6 were recovered after being reported missing. They had walked 16 kilometres in the wrong direction off track, on Sunday afternoon. A 15 year old boy was also reported missing, but was found before emergency services arrived. A 51-year-old woman was rescued after sustaining a broken ankle after slipping on a trail, while descending down a steep pinnacle. The rescue helicopter was unavailable, so crew had to carry her, winching her out from the steep and precarious location. Police said that the hiker was well equipped and experienced. |
