The South Australian Ambulance Service has had a rethink about abolishing interstate ambulance cover, after an independent review of the scheme was called to respond to community concerns. Instead, people wanting nationwide cover will have to pay an extra $15.00 for the privilege – which will be yet another surcharge for those of us living and working in border areas. Naracoorte and Lucindale’s Community and sporting groups are invited to apply for a slice of the $20,000 that has been earmarked through the first round of the Council’s Community Chest. The purpose of the funding is for these groups to foster development of services and events, and applications need to be received at Council by August 25.
