KINGSTON’S COMMUNITY FORUM DISCUSSES COUNCIL’S VISION:  Kingston District Council’s Community Forum held recently attracted a crowd of around 25 people, to discuss the Council’s Budget for the coming financial year. Council CEO Andrew MacDonald talked the audience though the Council’s vision for the township, saying that their goal is to transform Kingston into a popular tourist and lifestyle destination, Some of the main projects being considered include main street lighting upgrades, construction of small nature parks also in the main street, and an upgrade of rural roads. After the presentation community members were invited to provide feedback; with many people citing better street lighting and scope for more events in Kingston, a high priority.
