| Naracoorte local Max Schinckel had a narrow escape on a farming property earlier this week, when a two metre deep sinkhole suddenly appeared after he’d driven over it in a tractor and spray unit. Max said the three metre wide sinkhole just opened up underneath the equipment and he was very lucky that he and the machinery didn’t end up at the bottom of it. The driver of the tractor was thrown out of his seat and hit his head on the roof of the cab. Not knowing what had occurred, he jumped out and was shocked to discover the huge hole. Owner of the Kybybolite property Andrew Shephard said it was the first sinkhole he’d ever come across on his farm. |
